Meet Alice: Your Partner in Clinical Skin Health
RN, RM, Associate Degree in Health Science (Dermal Therapy)

Hi - I’m Alice. I’m the Registered Nurse, Midwife, and Dermal Therapist behind Through the Looking Glass Clinic.
I’ve spent over 20 years in nursing, including many years on the front lines of the Emergency Department (ED). People often joke that ED nurses are "the best with needles," and while that’s true, my hospital background has given me something even more important: a Safety First clinical mindset. In my clinic, your safety, health, and anatomical integrity are my absolute priorities.

The Personal "Why" Behind the Clinic

While my clinical background is in nursing, my passion for skin comes from a very personal place. For 20 years, I was the person who did "everything right" but still suffered.
After intense acne treatments in my teens, my skin barrier was shattered. I battled redness, dehydration, and by my late 30s, I felt like my skin didn't reflect the vibrant person I was on the inside. Despite being a nurse, I realised I didn't have the specific dermal knowledge to fix it.
That frustration led me to go back to university to earn my Associate Degree in Health Science (Dermal Therapy). I wanted to understand the "why" so I could teach it to other women. When I found O Cosmedics, it was the final piece of the puzzle - functional, medical-grade skincare that actually "talks" to your cells.

The Midwife Advantage: Safety for Every Stage

Fun fact: I am also a Midwife and a mother of five children! I know exactly how much your skin - and your confidence - can change during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Because of my midwifery background, I have specialised knowledge in pregnancy-safe and breastfeeding-safe clinical treatments. I love helping new and expectant mums navigate their skin changes in a way that is completely safe for both mother and baby.

The "Alice" Approach: Natural & Conservative
I moved into the world of aesthetic medicine in 2022 because I love the intersection of science and confidence. My philosophy is simple: Enhance, don't alter.
I specialise in conservative, nurse-led rejuvenation for those who want to look refreshed, rested, and above all - still look like themselves. Whether we are discussing wrinkle reduction, volume restoration, or a long-term plan for your skin barrier, my goal is to provide an unhurried, clinical conversation where you feel heard and cared for.

Ella
Skin Therapist and Clinic Coordinator
Hi, I'm Ella - and yes, Alice is my mum.

Growing up watching her pour her heart into Through the Looking Glass, I had a front-row seat to what it looks like when clinical science meets genuine care for people. It didn't take long to realise I wanted to be part of it.

My Passion: Skin for Teens
As a teenager myself, I know firsthand how deeply your skin can affect your confidence. My special clinical interest is in acne-prone skin - particularly for teens and young adults - because I genuinely live it. Navigating the overwhelm of conflicting advice, the wrong products, the trial and error... I get it. My goal is to help you cut through the noise with science-backed, evidence-based skin solutions that are actually built for your skin.

The Creative Side
Outside of the clinic, I'm a dedicated artist and photographer. I love storytelling through a lens, and I bring that eye for detail into everything I do here - from the way we document your skin journey to the content you see across our socials. If you've enjoyed our digital presence lately, that's partly my doing!

Trained. Curious. Committed.
I work directly under Alice's mentorship as I develop my clinical skills in dermal therapy and skin health, with a particular focus on O Cosmedics - a medical-grade skincare philosophy I truly believe in. I'm a student of the skin in every sense, and I love nothing more than geeking out on the science.

Come say hi - I'd love to be your first step into the Looking Glass.
